SULP STORIES+
for secondary school and college students

Used a resource in itself or in conjunction with SULP-R, SULP Stories Plus (SULP-S+) extends the original SULP stories for secondary school and college students to include additional stories and follow-up activity sequences.

Dealing with issues relevant to teenagers and young adults, SULP-S+ incorporates the SULP principles that have been proven to be effective with young people with a range of special needs including autism, specific language difficulties, learning difficulties, sensory impairments and emotional difficulties. Additionally SULP is being used effectively with mainstream learners and is being used to promote social inclusion in some schools.

SULP-S+ can be used by SLTs, teachers and teaching assistants and is suitable for use with families in addition to school/college groups. Activities have been designed to be effective with both small and large groups. The books can be bought separately or together. SULP-S+ comprises:

Book 4 builds upon the social communication skills of Book 1 to develop skills of assertiveness that enable students to more effectively manage difficult situations that they may come across as they get older. These skills provide students with a positive alternative – they can otherwise feel passive in these situations or resort to aggressive behaviour.

Book 4 also includes a section on physical well-being.
